The Ultimate Guide to Measuring Your Ring Size
So you’ve found THE dream ring but unsure what ring size you need? - Whether for a gift or for yourself, here are some ways to find the right size, for the perfect fit.
Finding the perfect ring size is a crucial part of purchasing a ring, comfort is key. You must take into consideration a couple of things when deciding on a size:
You may notice rings feel tighter in summer and looser in winter due to temperature change. You want the ring to feel slightly snug, but not tight to accommodate this.
How wide is the ring? Wider rings can feel tighter than a thin band, so you may want to size up half a size with wider rings for a more comforting fit.
Different countries have different numbers or letters for ring sizes e.g. EU sizes are numbers and UK sizes are letters. So bear in mind I’ll need a UK size or we can convert it.
3 Easy Ways to Find Your Size
1. Visit Me or Your Local Jewellers
Especially with my bespoke pieces, I will always urge you to get sized by a professional jeweller. We have the proper equipment to get the most accurate size, and are here to answer any questions you may have.
2. Buy a Ring Sizer Online
You can buy a ring sizer online (about £2). Make sure it’s a UK one! This is often an accurate home method, and is a really handy tool to have if you want to invest in more rings on other fingers in the future.
3. Measure a Ring You Already Own
If you have a ring that fits the finger you’re looking to measure you can measure this. Make sure the ring isn’t bent and is still round. Use a ruler to measure the inner diameter.
Resizing Your Ring
Ideally we want to get the ring size right the first time, but in cases where it feels loose or too tight we can resize the ring.
With eternity rings and rings with many or big stones in I will recommend you try the ring on before the stones are set, as it’s a lot harder to resize once the stones are in.
Stock Rings
Most of my rings are made to order to your size, but in some cases I will have stock rings ready to go! Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re looking for that last minute gift.
